My Approach to Engagement Photography in Columbus, OH
Being an engagement photographer is a dream job for me. I have the opportunity to share special moments with amazing couples on a regular basis. I get to travel around Columbus, OH, I’m not stuck behind a desk and it allows me to be creative. Being able to take photos that will bring joy as they are looked back upon for years to come is an extremely rewarding thing. Prior to meeting at your photo shoot location, we will speak over the phone or via email, allowing us to get to know each other a bit. It’s important you feel comfortable through this entire process and know that I am the right engagement photographer in Columbus for you. If you have a certain look or style in mind for your pictures, by all means, send them my way. If you want me to freestyle it, I will happily do so. Once we have a set location, date, and style for your engagement photos we will move onto the next step.
All of my shoots start the same way, first, we will take some basic portrait photos, nothing fancy. It’s important that you get comfortable in front of the camera before we get into more creative and different photos. I’ll show you the photos so you can let me know what you like and don’t like about how you look in the picture. This allows me to coordinate the other engagement photos with ease, ensuring you are happy with how you look in these timeless photos. Once we have done a handful of these portrait shots we can move onto the really fun stuff. This part of your engagement photo session will take around 20-30 minutes.
Engagement Photography in Columbus, OH
I have a handful of “go-to” engagement photo poses that I really love and I’m sure you will too. I’ll explain ease pose and set up to you to make sure it’s something you like and are comfortable doing. If for whatever reason you are not on board for a certain picture, just let me know and we can replace it with something else. I try to not set a time limit on your shoot. 2 hours is usually enough time to get everything done, but if you need an extra 30 minutes or an hour to get the shots you dreamed of I will do it at no additional charge.
I want you to share your ideas with me! Is there a certain pose you have in mind? Let me know! I don’t hold the title of “Best Engagement Photographer in Columbus” and I am always open to your ideas. Corny, unique, awkward; whatever let’s do it! This is your day, I’m going to do whatever must be done to make sure you are 100% satisfied with your engagement photos!
Once your engagement photo shoot is done I will get to editing. I am a little crazy when it comes to this part, probably because of my experience with my engagement and wedding photographer. He was super talented, friendly and responsive, but it took over a month to get just the digital copies of my photos. You won’t have to go through this, I will have your photos back to you within 72 hours. I personally like to share them via Google Photos, but if you prefer a different method that’s fine! If you ordered a hardcover photo album as part of your engagement photography package, it may take a week or two for developement and delivery.
